Brahma Temple – The Brahma Temple in Pushkar is the only temple where the Creator is the principal deity, though not the only Brahma temple in India, which most people claim. The chequered court makes a dramatic impression with its ancient stone pillars, now painted blue. It is was partially destroyed by Aurangazeb but rebuilt by a Brahman lady from Jaipur who appealed to the Maharaja.

Pushkar Lake –
Pushkar Lake is one a major a Hindu pilgrimage destination. The devout throng to wash away their sins in the holy waters of the lake. It is believed that the Sarovar was formed from one of the three petals dropped off from the lotus seat of Brahma. Prayers in the evening at the lake are believed to fulfil wishes.

Dargah of Khawaja Mu’inuddin Chisti –The Ajmer Dargah is the tomb of the great Sufi saint Khwaja Mu’inuddin Chishti. The Dargah complex also includes an assembly hall for the poor, a hospital, a school and numerous shops. The Khidmat & Roshni ceremonies as well as the Thursday Qawwali sessions are recommended.

Taragarh Fort (Star Fort) – Taragarh was built by Ajaipal Chauhan in 1100 with on a hilltop overlooking the town of Ajmer. A motorable road has reduced the erstwhile tiring climb and made access easier.

Mayo College – The Mayo College was founded to provide young Indian princes with liberal education. The college was known as the ‘Eton’ of Rajputana and was run along the lines of an English Public School.

Pushkar Fair -The annual Pushkar Fair begins on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi and goes on for five days till Kartik Purnima. It is the largest cattle trading fair in India and is also a trading ground for camels and horses. Visitors can also visit stalls selling jewellery, handicrafts and curios or see magic shows as well as music & dance recitals.  

Kishangarh – Kishangarh is renowned for traditional miniature bani-thani paintings which are noted for sharp facial features and elongated almond-shaped eyes. Inexpensive copies are available on old paper using water colours instead of the mineral pigments of the originals. There is also a huge fort on the shores of Lake Gundalao worth a visit.
